Laughing Pizza

We have had a lot of things going on since the last post and have a lot of birthday party stuff to post, but I first wanted to quickly post about something we did on Sunday. We went to the LA Time Book Festival and had a great time. It was a free event held at UCLA and we wanted to go to see one of Lily's favorite groups Laughing Pizza, who we know from Atlanta. It was awesome. One person I did not expect to see was Julie Andrews. She apparently has written a bunch of children's books and was there to talk about them. It was so cool seeing her in person! Laughing Pizza was a great time and we bought their new CD which is awesome!!!! Lily and Benjamin both danced like crazy, it was so nice seeing them. We got our CD autographed as well as a poster so Lily was pretty excited.

Happy 1st Birthday Benjamin...

Today was Benjamin's first birthday. Lily was very excited, Benjamin didn't think there was anything special about today. We had a donut cake created by one of my friends who also gave Benjamin the 4 wheeler in the video. Benjamin loves his new little Kawasaki and wasted no time pushing it around with his feet. It is amazing it has been a year!

Out for a stroll...

Benjamin enjoyed playing on this car this past weekend at a friends birthday party. Lily had a great time pushing him around.

Easter morning at Kidspace

Since Will was out of town for Easter we spent the morning at Kidspace. We had a great time since it was pretty empty. Benjamin enjoyed being able to walk around and play in the water. Lily is getting better at riding the bikes. We also got some caterpillar larvae so we can watch the process of metamorphosis.

Rainforest Cafe

We had breakfast at Rainforest Cafe while at Disney. This is one of my favorite restaurants, I just love the decor as well as the "thunder" storms. Lily was really freaked out about the storms, but she really enjoyed the large fish tanks. Benjamin was intrigued with the large butterflies. Which reminds me we are happy to report our own caterpillars have now formed their chrysalis. I am not sure if Lily gets it but Abbie and Claire thought it was cool.

Lily playing in the water at California Adventure

Lily had a great time playing in the water at California Adventure. She ran in circles for a long time chasing the water, in the end she got soaked. We ended up having to get new shoes as her feet were soaked, if I would have planned better I would have brought water shoes.

Disneyland for their Birthdays

Waiting for the parade.

The Buzz Lightyear ride

Claire, Abbie and Lily on the tea cups

Cousins Claire and Abbie came to visit this past week and Papa Mike was generous enough to fund a trip to Disneyland for all the kids birthdays. We took advantage of the Southern California 2fer deal which allowed us to go to both Disneyland and California Adventure for the price of one. We had a great time. Lily has recently become a fan of the "Cars" movie, so she loved the parade which featured her two favorite "Cars" Lily also really enjoyed the Playhouse Disney show, even though she probably hasn't seen some of the tv shows, she like the singing and dancing. I was really proud of her for standing up and participating in the dancing. Benjamin also enjoyed dancing.

Claire and Abbie went on the "big" kid rides, but also went with Lily on the smaller kid rides. Lily went on a small roller coaster and loved it, she was disappointed she wasn't tall enough to go on the bigger roller coasters. We just had a lot of fun and I wish I could have gotten more pictures because all the kids were smiling and laughing so much.

Huntington Gardens

Last weekend we spent a leisurely day at Huntington Gardens. The new Chinese gardens section recently opened so we enjoyed seeing that. Benjamin had a great time exploring and walking around, although he still can't keep up with Lily.

One Big Bite!!!!

We ate out for lunch last weekend and Will got a huge hamburger...that Benjamin decided was his. We thought it was really funny that he didn't have any problem biting into such a big burger. He really enjoyed this special treat.
