Philadelphia Zoo

Will took the kids to the Philadelphia zoo on Labor day. They seemed to have a great time (at least they came back with filthy clothes so I assume they had a great time).

Stoney Creek Park

We like to spend time at this park because they have a big sand pit and it is almost like playing at the beach. This past time Lily and Benji made it even more like a beach after they discovered there is a water spigot nearby. They spent all morning moving the sand to the water area. Other parents did look at me like I was crazy for letting them do it, but they were having so much fun, I decided it was ok! It was unfortunate that just before going to the park I had vacuumed the car :(

We found some inline skates in Lily's size at the thrift store, since she has been wanting to learn to skate I let her get them. I think it took about 1 minute for her to decide skating is "very hard." Then Benji wanted a try, he did ok but only while holding on to someone. (Yes he is in his underwear...no he is NOT potty trained yet).

Treehouse Cafe

This is a great indoor playplace that all wood toys (sponsored by the local Waldorf school). We can easily spend the entire day there(luckily they have free internet).

Swimming Pool

We found this cute swimming pool on clearance at Target. The kids love it with the slides and water spray.

Cousins

Lily and Benjamin really enjoyed seeing their cousins Alison and Cameron. We had a great time hanging out down at the beach.

Toledo Zoo

On our drive to Michigan we stopped at the Toledo Zoo, it was awesome. Not only was it free with our zoo pass, but they had some really great exhibits. Benjamin loves animals so it was a great place to hang out and rest from our drive.

Sherman's Dairy

No one can go to Michigan without a stop by Sherman's Dairy. Although I have to say that the ice cream at the Pennsylvania Dairys is way better!

St. Joe Animals

The kids loved going around downtown St. Joe and looking at all of the animal statues. We went back day after day so they could see them.

Beach Fun

The kids loved the beach, we spent a lot of time just playing.

South Bend Chocolate Company

The kids felt so lucky when they got to get an ice cream at the South Bend Chocolate Company. There were some awesome treats there, the kids enjoyed their ice cream.

Golden Brown Bakery

The Golden Brown Bakery is one of my favorite places for a treat in Michigan. We had a great time there, the kids really loved the donuts with sprinkles.

Deer Forest

We spent a day at deer forest. Lily and Benjamin were so excited to feed the deer, they really loved all of the animals. They also had a great time riding all the rides.

Cousin Seth

Lily and Benjamin were fortunate enough to meet their cousin Seth. They got to play at the park together and Lily was very excited to have a cousin her age.

Binder Park Zoo

We met up with one of my highschool friends at Binder Park Zoo. Lily and Benjamin were really excited feeding the giraffes. They had a great day running around the zoo.
