We went to the park with Grandpa the other day and through an exploration Grandpa found some wild blackberries. He could not pick them fast enough for Benjamin, who was stuffing handfuls into his mouth. Lily enjoyed the berries also. We also saw a heron, deer tracks and a mockingbird. Lily and Benjamin also enjoyed playing on the playground equipment.

Blackberries with Grandpa

Fourth of July
We spent the fourth of July in Atlanta. We went to the parade in Marietta in the morning, the kids got kinda bored so we ended up walking around the square and Lily went in a few bounce houses that were set up. In the afternoon we went to a cookout at Auntie Alices house. We had a great time, the combination of kids and dogs made for great entertainment.
Patent Leather Beetles
We are spending a few weeks in Atlanta and Grandpa, who always has a trick up his sleeve got out some patent leather beetles. Benjamin was not afraid at all, he immediately grabbed the beetle and tried to put it in his mouth. Lily was much more timid with the beetles, she was afraid to pick them up so I had to pick one up to show her it was ok, thanks grandpa! Grandpa also has some grubs and explained to Lily that they were baby beetles. When one of the grubs crawled underneath one of the beetles Lily said "Oh look that baby grub is trying to get some mump." It was so cute.
